Safety Care Initial Training November 3-4, 2022

Denise Shugarts and Julie Brown will be your Safety Care trainers for the initial training. Your training manual will be provided on the first day of training. Below is useful information related to the Safety Care training: 

1. The training will be held in the President's Room at the TIU 11 main office building: 2527 US HWY 522 South, McVeytown, PA 17051

2. Please plan to arrive on time (8:30 a.m.) and stay for the duration of the training each day. The training is scheduled to conclude at 3:30 p.m. each day.

3. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Items such as lightweight pants/sweat pants, yoga pants, or comfortable jeans work well.

4. Wear comfortable athletic shoes (no heels, no crocs even with a back strap, no sandals, no flip-flops).

5. To pass a competency, the participant must be able to perform the move without errors and any prompting from the trainer. Participants who do not pass a competency or take a medical restriction will be certified with restrictions.

6. There will be an open book test at the end of the training. You must earn 100% to pass and will be allowed to re-do any incorrect questions.

7. Lunch will be "on your own" and is scheduled for approximately 30-45 minutes. We will have a morning break and an afternoon break.
