Approaches to Continuous Improvement Tentative

Module 1 focuses on how to lead change efforts to improve staff and student performance, including the conditions that best support student achievement and school improvement. By examining the status quo and taking ownership of results, effective school leaders engage in continuous improvement cycles to make necessary, regular improvements.
Module 2 focuses on how to lead continuous school improvement initiative efforts. The underlying goals of the School Improvement Plan support the vision and mission for improved student achievement. Implementing school improvement initiatives and revising goals and outcomes based on actionable data analysis are continuous improvement strategies. Necessary changes can positively impact student achievement.• Course alignment with the PA Academic Standards; Resiliency framework (if social-emotional content) or alignment with other applicable standards
PA Leadership Standards
This course addresses Core Standards I, II, and III and Corollary Standards I, III, and VI.
Core Standards.
- I. The leader has the knowledge and skills to think and plan strategically, creating an organizational vision around personalized student success.
- II. An understanding of standards-based systems theory and design and the ability to transfer that knowledge to the leader’s job as an architect of standards based reform in the school.
- III. The ability to access and use appropriate data to inform decision-making at all levels of the system.
Corollary Standards
- I. Creating a culture of teaching and learning with an emphasis on learning.
- II. Managing resources for effective results.
- III. Collaborating, communicating, engaging and empowering others inside and outside the organization to pursue excellence in learning.
