Target Audience: Special education teachers, related service providers, general education teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and early intervention teachers.

This virtual session will focus on clarifying common misconceptions about Assistive Technology (AT) and strengthening your understanding of how AT fits into the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. The session will include highlights from the U.S. Department of Education’s “Myths and Facts Surrounding Assistive Technology Devices and Services” publication which clarifies misunderstandings about AT under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and outlines legal responsibilities of educational teams in providing AT devices and services.  The session will also offer guidance on how to effectively document AT services in the IEP.
