HPE Training
January 18, 2027
Join Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11 on January 18, 2027, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM for a virtual professional learning day designed for Health and Physical Education teachers. Nick Slotterback, Health and Physical Education Lead for the Pennsylvania Department of Education, will lead the training.
Participants will review Pennsylvania’s updated HPE Standards and explore practical ways to strengthen curriculum, instruction, and student learning. Topics include new instructional resources, strategies for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into HPE instruction, and guidance for teaching AI concepts responsibly and appropriately.
Through interactive learning experiences, participants will explore sample HPE activities aligned with the updated standards, field day planning ideas and models, career and community fitness event concepts, and classroom-ready AI tools and examples for enhancing instruction.
The training will be held virtually. A meeting link will be sent to registered participants closer to the training date.
