The Nurses' Network is an opportunity for school nurses across the IU to meet for the purpose of discussing current trends, networking with colleagues, and acquiring professional development. The final meeting of the school year will focus on mental health, specifically stress/anxiety and resiliency.
UPDATE:
In place of our regularly scheduled meeting, the Nurses' Network will participate in Recognizing and Responding to Children at Risk: Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect Education for School Nurses. The date and time will remain the same (9 am - noon on May 10, 2023). This training will only be offered virtually.
While this is a mandated reporter training, it may differ from ones you have taken in the past in two ways.
1. It is specially designed for school nurses.
2. It is a live, virtual training with a pediatrician and CYS worker. Dr. Mary Theresa Leventhal Baker (Board Certified in ChildAbuse Pediatrics) and Trisha Fisher, MSW (Caseworker for Cumberland County CYS) will be presenting. Unlike a self-paced, video training, you will have the opportunity to interact with the presenters, ask questions, and participate in discussions with other nurses from around the region.
Please sign up in PD Tracker AND on this Google Form so that I can get you registered for the event. Act 48 and CEUs will be provided.
