STEM/STEAM for All: Equity for Diverse Learners Cancelled

Description of Activity: Participants will explore simple a simple engineering challenge and explore very easy block-based computer programming while being provided with supports and accommodations for a variety of diverse learners’ needs. Suggestions for implementing and integrating STEM in the classroom will also be provided. All teachers Pre K to 8th Grade, general education and special education educators, as well as para professional are welcome to attend.
PDE STEM Initiative Vision: The Pennsylvania STEM Initiative will ensure equitable access to STEM education for every student including, historically undeserved, low socioeconomic status, students with disabilities, English language learners, African American / Black, Hispanic, Asian and Native American students by: building collaboration across agencies, organizations, bureaus, departments, and divisions. The Pennsylvania STEM Initiative will build the capacity of educators and administrators to provide high quality effective STEM experiences Pre K-12 in public schools, Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth programs, after school programs, and Intermediate Unit run classrooms. STEM experiences for every student will be trans disciplinary and encourage the development of STEM skills/competencies that prepare every student for success in post-secondary and the workforce.
Cost of the workshop is $75.00 for Educators and $125.00 for non educators.
