Phishing Scams & Cyber Security Awareness
Presenter: Josh Wakefield
TIU 11 tech dept. will walk you through common internet security practices, pitfalls and tactics to be on the lookout for! This session will prepare you to better secure your personal and professional life against cyber criminals. Topics Covered: Phishing, Techniques, Tactics & Procedures, Password Security, Ransomware and Malware.
Understanding the Family and Medical Leave Act
Presenter: Stephanie Bilger
In just forty-five minutes, you will gain a better
understanding of the FMLA, learn to eliminate FMLA
confusion and explore real-life issues. Users will learn
about eligibility requirements, circumstances under which
employees qualify for FMLA leave, pay and benefits
employees are entitled to while on leave and
responsibilities regarding FMLA procedures.
What’s New in Ed Tech at TIU 11
Presenters: Jigar Patel & Dr. Eric Yoder
In this session, presenters will highlight changes in Ed Tech and show case new tools in the TIU 11 toolkit to benefit our employees, programs, and districts. We will demonstrate how tools like Adobe Sign (e-signatures), the new Incident IQ helpdesk, and Zoom can be leveraged to improve workflows and communication. Additionally, we will showcase LinkedIn Learning, a platform available to all IU employees, which houses online courses and video tutorials for hundreds of different computer applications (such as those from Adobe, Microsoft, and many others) and specific work-related tasks (such as organizing data, marketing, improving communication, etc).
The Happiness Advantage
Presenter: Alicia Hull
In a world filled with stress and negativity, it’s easy to be consumed by gloom. Based on the work of Shawn Achor, this session will focus on small shifts in our mindsets and habits that can rewire our brains, increasing our happiness, which can lead to increased productivity at work, home, and other aspects of our lives.
Student Freedom of Speech
Presenter: Attorney Mark Walz
Discusses the latest Case law on Student Internet Speech – and the First Amendment limits on when students can face school discipline for what they say online – including for conduct that can be threatening, or that is directed to or about teachers and school administrators.

The HR field requires evidence-based knowledge of
psychology, business, law, economics, sociology, industrial
engineering and risk management. This session is designed
to provide, in one place, the key resources needed for
employees to understand benefits and HR
practices/policies of the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11.

Building Resiliency
Presenter: Timothy Miller
We have all had trauma in our lives but how are some people
able to cope easier than others? This session will look at how
to build resiliency in others and ourselves. We will look at our
Ikigi (the Japanese secret to a long and happy life) and
discover ways to improve your resilience at work.
