Description of Activity: The 45-minute
Zoom sessions promote effective and easy to implement stress-reduction strategies that calm the body,
cool the brain, and connect us more effectively with ourselves and safely with others. During the
COVID-19 health crisis, staying “calm, cool, and connected” are essential for successfully navigating
through these uncertain times.
In this “lunch and learn” series, the presenters will introduce you to some of the following:
The science behind stress
How the body and brain interact
Tips and tools for managing stress
Easy and daily practices to stay “calm, cool, and connected”
The three-part series, which can be taken separately or together, will provide the participant with
information, experiences and actionable behaviors and tips to reduce stress. No prior experience is
required, and all the tools are low-cost and effective for daily use. Also, there’s a lot of fun in the
courses as humor as been found to be an effective stress-reduction strategy.

Wednesday, April 15
This program covers the scientific impact of stress on our bodies and brain. By understanding the physical course of stress, we are better able to utilize our natural systems and body movements to relieve and manage our stress response. This program is both informative and interactive, with chances to try different tools and ask questions.

This program introduces a more in-depth presentation on a stress-reducing approach to mindfulness. Participants learn the benefits of practicing mindfulness, the basics of mindfulness, and how to easily incorporate mindfulness into daily activities whether at work, at home, or when home is the workplace. Everything is designed to be accessible and manageable within a demanding work/home schedule.

This program focuses on strategies that reduce stress associated with interpersonal relationships. The program will explore the sources of relational stress, the impact of interpersonal tension on communication and connecting skills, and tools and tips for developing, improving, or maintaining effective relationships. The practices, tools and tips to be offered are designed to be used in a variety of settings. Whether at home, at work, or in social-media environments, having effective and compassionate interpersonal relationships are great for the body, mind, and spirit.
